The Crisis Consultant Group, LLC (A national provider in Crisis Intervention and Workplace Violence Safety Training; (http://www.crisisconsultantgroup.com/) will be providing a free 1.5 hour Women’s Self Defense and Personal Safety Training course in the local Warrenton area. The course will be taught by two current sworn Law Enforcement officers who have years of training and experience dealing with mildly aggressive, to highly aggressive persons and situations. Additionally, they know how to entertain an audience and help participants build confidence in a safe and respectful learning environment.
Date and time: Feb 6, 2010, 10 am -11:30 am. This event will be sponsored by WUMC to assist local area citizens, parishioners, high school and college students, and anyone else who may be interested in learning simple and effective ways to avoid aggressive persons, and how to defend themselves against violent attacks. This course is not a “Beat em’ up” type martial arts course which often requires many confusing or difficult techniques to learn and remember. This course is open to all persons, even if you are not physically fit, or what one would consider “agile” on their feet. This training session is meant to provide a basic understanding of personal safety, environmental awareness, and recognizing potentially dangerous situations before they result in harm. Additionally, it will provide attendees with a few effective techniques to use in emergencies that may not only save their life, but the life of others as well.
